The Impact of Organoids on Biomedical Research and Inspiring Discussions at EUROoCS

Innovation in biomedical research is driven by both technological breakthroughs and meaningful scientific exchange. PREDICEN recently attended the EUROoCS Congress in Braga, where the transformative power of organoids in preclinical research and drug safety was front and center.

Our participation was marked by insightful

discussions, the pleasure of reconnecting with long-standing collaborators, and the discovery of new scientific perspectives.

A standout highlight of the conference was the keynote address by Magdalena Kasendra (Cincinnati Children’s Hospital) on her benchmarking Human Liver Organoid (HLO) platform for DILI Risk Stratification. Seeing this preclinical platform win the NIH Replication Prize was a defining moment for the entire field. It offers concrete proof that standardizing complex organoid systems is achievable.

Witnessing these advances has left the PREDICEN team more motivated than ever. While HLOs are demonstrating the immense power of organoids in preclinical research, at PREDICEN, we are more motivated than ever to move this technology straight into clinical practice. By using patient-derived tumoroids generated from fresh tissue, our goal is to give oncologists actionable insights : helping clinicians identify the most effective, personalized treatment available for their patients today.
